Are These 8 Things Stealing Your Sleep?

The lack of good sleep can change your sleep-wake patterns, affecting your regular sleep cycle and causing many health issues like drowsiness, high blood pressure, insomnia, obesity, stress, etc.  

While we do our best to sleep better, whether you buy good mattresses or buy bed sheets online, some unknown things might affect your regular sleep. Are you suffering from the following habits? If so, these are affecting your night’s sleep adversely.

 

Snoring

If you or your partner snores, it means that there are repeated pauses in your breathing and you also feel sleepy during the day. Obesity, alcohol or an uneven mattress can lead to snoring. You can see a specialist to find the reason for snoring. If you could get to the root cause, you can make the right adjustments to get better sleep at night.  

 

Fatty and Spicy foods

Avoid spicy and fatty foods before going to bed. These foods are likely to make you feel uncomfortable and uneasy at night. It will certainly disrupt your sleep, making you toss and turn throughout the night.  

 

Lack of exercise

Working out on a regular basis is important for better sleep. Therefore, if you lack exercises in your routine, it’s time to start exercising regularly. You can indulge yourself in aerobic exercises to feel energized during the day and get better sleep at night.

 

Caffeine

Drinking coffee or tea in the evening or late afternoon can also affect your sleep when you are off to bed. Consuming caffeine three or maybe six hours before your bedtime can greatly affect your sleep. So, try to cut your caffeine after 3.00 PM and also avoid having energy drinks in the evening. Instead, consume healthy and fresh beverages like juices, milk, etc.

 

Stress

Daily work stress may be another reason leading to reduced sleep at night. We understand the competitive work environment today. But you need to take out some time to meditate daily to relax and be stress-free.

 

Dirty bed sheets

Like an old mattress, dirty bed sheets are the breeding ground for dust mites and various allergens that may cause skin irritations while sleeping. This may disrupt your sleep. Therefore, do take out time to change your bed sheets on a regular basis.

 

Poorly designed bedroom

Cluttered bedroom may make you feel more agitated after you come from work So, invest some time to clean your bedroom and design it well with calming decor objects to help you unwind after a tiring day. You may even buy bed online to complement your bedroom interior.

 

Smartphone

The radiations of a Smartphone interrupt with the normal sleep patterns. Therefore, many people today suffer from insomnia. It is best to keep your Smartphone away from your bed when sleeping. If you want to wake up early, use a real alarm clock, not a Smartphone to wake up.
